Last week, we welcomed Jason Macpherson, Director of Development for the Cascade Pacific Council of Scouting America, who shared an engaging overview of

scouting in our region. Serving 19 counties across Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington, Jason reflected on his 27-year career in scouting, as well as his

personal connection as an Eagle Scout and father of two Eagle Scouts. While much has evolved, he emphasized what remains unchanged: the Scout Oath and Law, a

deep respect for service and country, and the enduring impact of the Eagle Scout program.

He also shared future priorities, including expanding programs in underserved areas, increasing scholarship support, strengthening school partnerships, and hiring

local staff. Jason invited Rotarians to get involved, whether by volunteering, advocating, or investing in the next generations. Thank you to Jason for a thoughtful and

inspiring presentation.
